Computational Biology Department Head Search

The School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University is seeking an energetic and visionary leader for the position of Full Professor and Head of the Computational Biology Department.  The Department, one of seven academic units in the School, is the world’s premier academic department focusing on rigorous computer science applications to biomedical problems. Our vision is to accelerate biomedical research progress by using integrated modeling of biological systems to drive biomedical experimentation.  The successful candidate will be charged with further shaping and strengthening the Department by leading efforts to recruit new faculty at both senior and junior levels, expand research and educational programs, and develop new fundraising partnerships and initiatives.
